How to Convert Video formats on Mac

Step by Step Guide

Step1: Installation
Follow the steps below to install iTskesoft Video Converter for Mac on your computer:

  • Download iTakesoft Video Converter for Mac installation file.
  • Double click the downloaded installation file to start installation.
  • Follow the instructions to finish the installation.

Step2: Run the iTakesoft Video Converter for Mac
Run iTakesoft Video Converter for Mac, and you will see the main interface appearing like this:

Step Three: Add files

  1. Click button on the toolbar, option from the drop-down list, choose video, audio or picture files you want. Then the loaded files will be displayed in the file list.
  2. You can also add files into the file list by clicking option in the main menu and choosing the files you want.

The added files will be displayed in the file list. See the picture.

Tip 1: you can click button repeatedly, if you want to convert a few video files at one time.

Tip 2: if the video is not the one you wanted or you are not satisfied with the file, just click button.

Tip 3: when you want to delete all the files on the interface, you just need to click  button. It can be finished just in one click. It’s very relaxing and convenient.

Tip 4:button can make the file skip up one by one. While button can make the file skip down.

Step Four: Edit the file (Optional)

You can crop the video, change the video’s effect or add a watermark on the video in the Video Editing window by click .

Tip 1: Trim your favorite segment
Click button Trim to trim any video clips.
There are three ways available:
Method 1: Enter the start time in the Start Time box and click Set, then enter the end time in the End Time box and click Set.
Method 2: Drag  below the Preview Windows to mark the beginning of your clip and drag  to mark the end of your clip during the preview.
Method 3: While playing video, click  to mark the beginning of your clip and  to mark the end of your clip during the preview.
After you set trim time, the length of the captured clip will be shown in the Select Length box for your reference.


Tip2：Crop Frame Size to Retain What You Want
Click button Crop to open the edit window to customize the video play region.

Method 1: Crop by adjusting the crop frame.The crop frame is the white line around the movie video. To crop your movie video, you can just move your mouse cursor to an adjustment box and drag the crop frame.
Method 2: Crop by setting the crop values. There are four crop values at the bottom of the window: Left, Top, Width and Height. You can set each value to crop your movie video, and the crop frame will move accordingly.
Set the Zoom Mode
Finished the crop setting, you can set the output aspect ratio from the Zoom Mode according to your need. There are five choices available: Default:, Fit to Scene, Letter box ,Pan&San and etc.
Default: Keep the aspect ratio of the crop size.
Fit to Scene: Stretch your cropped video to fit for the aspect ratio of the resolution setting.
Letter box: Stretch your cropped video to fit for the aspect 16:9.
Pan&San: Stretch your cropped video to fit for the aspect ratio of 4:3.
The cropped effect can be viewed in the preview window simultaneously while you operating.

Tip 3: Customize video effect
Click button Effect:

Brightness: Drag the Brightness adjustment bar to set the brightness of the video.
Contrast: Drag the Contrast adjustment bar to set the contrast of the video.
Saturation: Drag the Saturation adjustment bar to set the saturation of the video.
Effect: Drag the Effect adjustment bar to adjust the effect of the audio.

Tip 4: Add watermarks to your new converted videos

iTakesoft Video Converter for Mac allows you to edit text and image watermark for the video for you to recreate it. Click the button Watermark:

Step Five:

After finishing all the necessary settings and editing, you can choose the format you like,
then click  to begin the conversion.

Enable Preview:
 Check to preview the converted video effect during the conversion.

Shut down computer when conversion completed:
If you check this option, this program will automatically shut down your computer after the conversion is finished, so you do not need to wait around your computer.
